Marrakech Hosts the Second Edition of the Exhibition “Bridges”: Where Art and Spirituality Meet at the Heart of Cultures

From May 10 to 20, 2025, Marrakech was the setting for an exceptional cultural event: the second edition of the exhibition “Bridges”, held at the Mohammed VI Administrative and Cultural Complex. This initiative was part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs of Morocco and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Preaching, and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The opening ceremony, held on Saturday, May 10 at noon, brought together high-level personalities from both countries, as well as prominent figures from various fields. It was marked by the official visit of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, alongside His Excellency Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs of Morocco.

This exhibition was not merely an artistic event: it provided a unique platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote intercultural and interfaith dialogue. Visitors were able to explore pavilions highlighting the richness of Saudi culture, a space dedicated to ancient Moroccan manuscripts and books, as well as a pavilion devoted to traditional and contemporary Arabic calligraphy.

Among the standout works was the painting by Moroccan artist Hachem Amzil, “The Call of Serenity in a Maze of Sounds”, which particularly captured attention. In this creation, Hachem Amzil frees the Arabic letter from its purely linguistic function to reveal its full plastic and rhythmic power, offering the viewer a meditative visual experience and a space of inner tranquility.

The painting was acquired and presented to His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, who was moved by the spiritual depth and universal message of the work. This symbolic gesture highlights not only the exceptional artistic value of the creation but also its role in bringing cultures closer together, clearly illustrating how art can build strong bridges between civilizations.
